Frequently Asked Questions

About the Work

What materials do you use in your paintings?
My paintings are created primarily with acrylic and mixed media on wood panel, and occasionally on heavy paper or canvas. Each work can incorporate a combination of painted layers, drawing, collage, and textural elements to create depth and atmosphere.

What does “mixed media” mean in your practice?
Using mixed media allows me to play and experiment. I often combine paint with oil and wax pastel, soft pastel, pencil and very occasionally collage to build visual texture and complexity. Each medium brings its own character to the artworks surface. Frankly, I don’t think about this too much and just grab whatever is lying around in the studio! Sometimes, I just use paint. I always state mixed media in my painting medium information because, to be really honest, after many layers on multiple paintings, I can’t always remember exactly what I’ve used.

What inspires your imagined still life compositions?
I draw inspiration from the everyday domestic objects that surround me — flowers, plants, vessels, and table settings both inside and out — which I reimagine through colour, form, and abstraction. The works are not literal depictions but explorations of balance, mood, and memory. I love my table-top still life paintings to feel both familiar and a little bit invented, sparking curiosity and hopefully a smile. I hope the quirky, humorous stories I create within my paintings allow the viewer to interpret and see their story within my work any way they choose.

How long does a painting take to complete?
Each piece evolves at its own pace. Some resolve quickly, while others unfold over several weeks through layering and refinement. I typically work on multiple paintings simultaneously. I consider the process of painting a dance between myself and the painting itself. Sometimes its an easy waltz and other times it resembles more of a paso doble but eventually we find each other!

Do you offer prints as well as originals?
All works listed as originals are one-of-a-kind. Select paintings are available as limited edition, archival giclee prints. Availability is noted within the shop.

Collecting & Purchasing

How can I acquire a painting?
Works may be purchased directly through this website, or through representing galleries as indicated. Please contact me for assistance or additional information about a specific piece.

What payment methods are accepted?
Payments can be made securely online by credit, debit card or Paypal. Alternative arrangements may be made upon request.

Are the online images true to the original artwork?
Every effort is made to photograph artworks accurately under natural light. However, variations in screen calibration may cause slight differences. Collectors often remark that the originals reveal greater richness and subtlety in person.

Do you accept commissions?
Simply put, no. Because everything I paint originates within my imagination I can’t offer commissions.

Shipping & Delivery

How are artworks prepared for shipment?
Each piece that leaves my studio is wrapped and packaged by me using recycled cardboard and archival and protective materials to ensure safe transport. Shipments are insured and include tracking information. For further shipping and delivery information please head to my Delivery & Returns page.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, international collectors are welcome. However, please contact me for shipping costs before making a purchase. Please note that any customs duties or import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

When can I expect my artwork to arrive?
Domestic orders typically ship within 7–10 business days. Delivery times vary by destination.

What should I do if my artwork arrives damaged?
In the unlikely event of damage, please contact me immediately with photographs of the packaging and artwork so that I can arrange a suitable resolution.

Is studio collection available?
Yes, local collection by appointment is always very welcome.

Care & Presentation

How should I display your paintings?
Paintings on wood panel are ready to hang or casually prop on a shelf and may be framed for a more formal presentation. Works on paper should be framed under glass using archival materials to protect the painting surface.

Are your paintings varnished?
Yes. Each painting on panel is sealed with a protective varnish to preserve colour and surface integrity.

How should the work be cared for?
Avoid direct sunlight and excessive humidity. To remove dust, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Please do not use cleaning sprays or water.
